Welcome
The mission of the Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners Association is to advance, support, and promote the high standards of health care delivered by nurse practitioners.

As a statewide professional association, we focus on the common needs of our members. We recognize the professional and political concerns facing nurse practitioners. ONP has always played a major role in facilitating and supporting changes in legislation that advance the role of the nurse practitioner. ONP believes that by providing better networking among our members, we will be better able to promote high standards of health care and thereby enhance the identity and continuity of nurse practitioners in our state.

ONP Survey to Assess the Needs of our Membership
To better serve our membership, we are conducting a Needs Assessment Survey. This survey provides vital information to help us meet the needs of our members and to provide continuing education requirements.

Survey to Aid in Development of E-Learning
If you are practicing Nurse Practitioner, please take a moment and fill out a short Survey to determine how comfortable and competent NPs are with the use of health information technology (IT). Your responses will be used to develop an e-learning module, which will be made available to you free of charge via this website in early 2009.

To participate, you need to be a licensed NP (not a student) as the questions relate to your comfort and use of health IT in your NP practice. Your responses are completely anonymous.

Thank you for participating in Oklahoma research related to NP practice!

Preceptor Opportunity for ONP Student Members
ONP is offering a preceptor list to ONP Student Members who need to complete their clinicals. The preceptor list contains names, location, specialty and a phone number where they can be reached. Members can access this list by signing in to the ONP Members Forum, then click Files.

Action Alert:

ONP-PAC is a non-partisan Political Action Committee (PAC) that supports, protects and promotes Nurse Practitioners throughout the legislative process. During the 2008 Legislative Session the ONP-PAC had a tremendous impact on several key issues by raising awareness and educating legislators on the role and importance of Nurse Practitioners.

The ONP-PAC collected $5,215 at the Annual Conference in October. If you would like to support ONP's lobbying efforts, you can still help by sending a check to:

The ONP and the AANP work with the pharmaceutical and medical device industry to encourage provider-neutral language in all direct-to-consumer ads. We invited you to participate in a petition created to further demonstrate the importance of this issue to the NP discipline. If you have not already signed the petition, please take a few minutes to read and sign the petition.
At this time, we have approximately 15,000 petitioners. We will post details on the progress of the petition on the AANP website over the next few weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to support this important issue.
